A New Jersey State fishing license is required for all freshwater fishing (ages 16 through 69) in the Monmouth County Park System and a trout stamp is also required when fishing for trout. A state fishing license can be purchased at any local fishing supply/bait shop. For more information about fishing licenses, visit the NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife website.   Fishing licenses are NOT available for purchase at the Manasquan Reservoir.

Starting in 2010, the National Saltwater Angler Registey Program requires most New Jersey saltwater anglers age 16 and up to register if they fish for anadromous species - fish that are born in fresh water, migrate to the ocean to grow into adults, and then return to fresh water to spawn - such as striped bass, smelt, shad or river herring. For more information regarding the registration, click here.
