Baysholm Conservation Area

Offering plenty of open space for bird watching, nature walks and hiking, this 71-acre property was donated to the Park System by Helen Herrmann. Formerly a farm called Baysholm from an Old English word meaning “young calves meadow,” the site features open fields, young forests, and wooded wetlands.  Located along the headwaters for a tributary of the Yellow Brook, which drains into the Swimming River Reservoir, Baysholm Conservation Area helps protect water quality and provide wildlife habitat.

The Park System recently added a gravel parking lot on Burlington Road that visitors can use to access the park.
